The magic of the Tiger Safari

The Tiger Safari 2014 was truly incredible!  We were fortunate enough to see 11 tigers in 12 safaris, with a leopard thrown in for good measure, as well as 80+ bird species and the unusual soft-shelled turtle.  The cameras were working overtime, as 9 0f  those tiger sightings produced wonderful photographic opportunities. Even the langur monkeys were getting in on the act, playfully filling our viewfinders on several occasions. The Tiger Safari 2015 is inching closer, (never quickly enough though), and if we have even half the luck we had this year, we will be in for an amazing time.  I have added a video below which should give you a good idea of what you will be in for!

The Polar Bear Safari video

One of the most exciting safaris we offer, is the Polar Bear Safari.  This is truly a unique experience, which takes you up into Canada’s tundra region, where we search for the massive bears.  The feeling of seeing a polar bear in the wild is difficult to explain, at best, I can describe it as a real privilege – you feel honoured to be in the presence of such a magnificent animal.  The photographic opportunities are awesome, with several bears converging on the same area at the same time, meaning (1) you have a really good chance at finding the bears, and (2) there is a great chance of photographing the bears interacting at close quarters!

The Classic South African Safari video

Keeping in line with the last few posts, I thought I would post the video of the Classic South African Safari.  There is simply so much to see on this safari; so many different large mammals, small mammals and birds that you cannot leave the safari disappointed – the photographic opportunities are seemingly endless! The most difficult part of the safari is often which animal or which species we should photograph next.  Enough said, have a look at the video to see more of this fantastic safari.

Botswana: The Okavango Delta Safari video

Heading into Botswana’s Okavango Delta is always a special experience.  The combination of land and water based safaris, as well as the incredible bio-diversity it has to offer mean that you always leave the safari feeling like you won.

Japan: Winter Wildlife Safari 2013: Day 7

The final morning of the safari had a very nice surprise in store for us.  We woke to an awesome snowfall, which added drastically to the atmosphere of the photos!  To make the morning a little more special, a japanese serow made an appearance midway through the snowfall.  This awkward looking antelope foraged on the cliffs above us for a solid hour before heading back into the hills.  The snow monkeys were as obliging as ever, and had all concentrated in the hot spring because of the cold weather.  All in all, it was the perfect way to end an amazing safari!

Major sightings of the day:

  • Snow monkeys
  • Japanese Serow
